Frequently ask question

How to Build and Grow your Print on Demand Business

Think of any successful merchandise brands, what do they have in common? Maybe a lot of answers will come to your mind: quality products? Good pricing ? Or even strong brand identity? Maybe you're right but the key to building and sustaining a strong brand is consistency! As the name suggests you can not build something in one day! However, you have to have a solid strategy in every stage of your brand and trust the process of building and growing your business! And it will come together eventually just like a snowball getting bigger!

A lot of store owners will give up too soon not seeing results immediately which is a big mistake. You should focus on bringing your first customer and retaining old ones! We compiled a list that will help you in growing your print on demand business!

1. Know your target audience

Every business should know their ideal customer demographics: Age, gender and occupation. Are you selling to university/school students or are your target audience engaged online shoppers? Knowing your ideal customer is not important because it dictates how you communicate with your customers on your social media channels in which they are more likely to convert and make a sale, but also it is as important to help you reach them through paid ads on different social media channels.

2. Do Organic/ Paid marketing

Organic marketing is the effort to market the products without spending money on paid ads. You should focus on your content marketing and what type of posts that will attract your ideal target market. Keep a content calendar and try to post in the times that will more likely engage your customers! You can also create giveaways by making a contest that will not only boost engagement but will also create awareness for your brand. You can also try spending on paid ads to reach more of your ideal customers using Facebook ads or Instagram boosted posts.

3. Do Influencer marketing

Influencer marketing has become more and more prevalent through the years. It is also a great way to showcase your actual products to influencers and their fanbase. Be careful to choose an influencer whose fan base fits your ideal customer. For example if your brand offers designs for foodies you should target a food blogger. Then you can send your product for them to showcase and review and let them redirect their fanbase with a discount to help encourage conversions.

4. Understand your customer funnel

A customer funnel is a segmentation of your customer throughout the journey of knowing your brand ( Awareness) till the moment he/she decides to buy from you ( conversion ). Let us face it, we all want to launch our side hustles, run paid ads and get bombarded with orders and call it a day, however, this is too good to be true! You have to first create awareness of your brand then convince customers to buy! Then engage buyers to buy again and so on! By changing your messaging throughout the customer funnel or journey. You can start by enticing new customers to like or engage with your brand and then maybe offer them a discount for first time purchase!

5. Retain your customers!

Did you know that it is cheaper for a returned customer to make a new order than to try and convert a new customer? Retaining your customers means that they will return to buy from you again. You can deploy many customer retention tactics by keeping them in your funnel to be ready to purchase again from you! By offering discounts on the next order when they purchase from you! Offer big discounts for repeat purchase customers or maybe if they referred their friend to purchase. If you have a website you can entice them to subscribe to your newsletter so you can communicate offers to their mailbox so they can repurchase!
